Kidneys Home > Votrient Uses

Can Older Adults Use It?

Votrient can be used in older adults. In clinical trials, older adults were more likely to experience certain Votrient side effects, including fatigue, high blood pressure (hypertension), decreased appetite, and increases in liver enzymes (which could be a sign of liver problems). Therefore, older adults may need more careful monitoring during treatment.

Off-Label Uses for Votrient

On occasion, your healthcare provider may recommend this medicine for something other than advanced renal cell carcinoma. This is called an "off-label" use. Votrient may be used off-label to treat other types of cancer, such as thyroid cancer or pancreatic cancer.
